Choose life - A chance for childern

This project started in 2007. Target group of this project is children from 11 to 20 years old, who live in orphanages in the Czech Republic on a long-term basis.

Its goal is to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and partnership witin this cohort.  This project was launched under the umbrella of the Tereza Maxova’s Fund, that is a main sponsor. We visited 33 orphanages and talked to 553 young people in 2007. The project is designed for this special group of youngsters – vital information is important to communicate when they are 11 years old, which relates to their pre-mature start of sexual life. We want to continue in this activity in next years and our target is to help young people in orphanages to find their way in partnership life, teach them about responsible behaviour and offer them information about healthy life style.

Our educators visited 33 orphanages in 2007. They spoke with 553 children. A year later, in 2008, they visited 37 orphanages and gave lectures to 669 youngsters.

During last two years we helped 1222 children and youngsters from 70 orphanages located all over the Czech Republic to better understand the complicated world of partnership and relationships as well as danger of HIV/AIDS.
